RESIDENT SERVICES
The following are a few of the many programs offered through Resident Services, the College Park Housing Authority, and the Neighborhood Networks of College Park.

Computer Classes - In Partnership with Atlanta Metropolitan College
We offer a wide range of computer classes for residents of the College Park Housing Authority. Through our partnership with the Atlanta Metropolitan College, residents have been able to receive top quality training from skilled teachers and professionals.
The classes that have been offered thus far include:
> Introduction to Computers
> Using the Internet
> 8 WeekTyping Course
> Intermediate Computer Training
Residents recieve a certificate from the Atlanta Metropolitan College after successfully completing these courses.
Business Classes - In Partnership with Atlanta Metropolitan College
Through our partnership with the Atlanta Metropolitan College, the Neighborhood Network offers business and job skills training classes to the residents of the College Park Housing Authority.
These classes include:
> Introduction of Entrepreneurship
> Creating a Business Plan
> Building Your Personal Credit & Finances
GED Classes - In Partnership with Atlanta Public Schools
Many individuals benefit from taking Georgia Equivalency Diploma (GED) preparation courses before taking the GED Exam. The Neighborhood Network offers individually tailored preparation courses to cover all areas of the GED Exam, including Mathematics, Language Arts (reading and writing skills), Social Studies, and Science. Individuals wishing to participate in our GED Preparation Classes may do so by visiting the College Park Resident Services Community Center, located at 2000 Princeton Ave., College Park, Georgia 30337. Preparation courses are offered to residents of College Park free of charge.
Job Readines - In Partnership with the Georgia Department of Labor
College Park residents who need individual assistence with job hunting, resume writing, and job interview preparation can get the help they need by visiting the Job Readiness office, located inside of our Resident Services Community Center at 2000 Princeton Ave., College Park, Georgia 30337. These services are provided through a joint partnership with the Georgia Department of Labor and the Housing Authority of the City of College Park.
Job readiness courses are also offered periodically.
Neighborhood Network Computer Labs
The Neighborhood Network Computer Labs offers residents open access to thirteen (13) computers and a professional laserjet printer in our Resident Services Community Center building, located at 2000 Princeton Ave., College Park, Georgia 30337. We also have a computer lab featuring seven (7) additional computers within our Senior Activity Center.
All of our computers are networked and connected to a high-speed internet connection, and feature the XP Profressional Operating System, as well as popular applications like Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and iTunes. For a complete list of the software, please see here.
The Neighborhood Network computer labs is an important part of the our After School Programs, Adult Computer Classes, Business Classes, and for general, all-purpose use by the residents of College Park.
Use of the computer lab and related periphiarals are offered free of charge to residents of College Park and their guests.
The Neighborhood Network Computer Lab is open daily, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 6:30pm.
The computers are built, serviced, and maintained by Youth Empowerment America.

After School Programs - Coordinated by SCLC and Resident Services
The CPHA After School Programs serves youth residents (Elementary, Junior, and High School levels) of the College Park Housing Authority Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 6:30pm throughout the school year.
Activities that take place through our after school program includes academic instruction, homework and study assistance, special community projects, leadership and personal skills training, and computer access.
Drug Education and Awareness - Funded by Tenant Services
Serves CPHA youth ages 9 & up. Meet bi-monthly to introduce and discuss topics dealing with substance abuse: clinical terminology, street names, affects and dangers of drugs / alcohol, and the health and legal consequences of becoming involved with illegal drugs and alcohol. Through group discussions, the youth are offered alternatives to recreation, peer pressure, and self-esteem issues. This program serves as a preventive measure in an effort to combat the use and / or sale of drugs and alcohol.
Youth Coalition - Funded By Ross
The Youth Coalition is made up of CPHA youth ages 9 and up. This group meets monthly to plan community service projects, field trips (theatre, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference Convention, College Tours, etc.) and fund-raisers. Through these activities, our youth develop their leadership skills.
Growing Into Womanhood - In-Kind Services Provided By Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority
The Growing Into Womenhood Program is for young ladies (ages 9 & up). Monthly meetings with SGR sorors explore different areas of interest, such as: community services, academic reinforcement, banking program, volunteer activities (ie. Operation Book Bag), health and nutrition, sex education / teenage pregnancy prevention, cultural awareness, etiquette, personal grooming and hygiene, and preparation for higher education through competitive scholarships and the Rhoers program. Sigma Gamma Rho sponsors the girls' membership and annual convention through person donations and fund-raisers.
Boy Scouts / Cub Scouts - In-Kind Services Provided By Boy Scouts of America
Boy Scouts Troop 578 serves CPHA boys (ages 10-18 / grades 5-12). Weekly meetings with parent volunteers and CPHA Staff provide a vast range of leadership training, wilderness survival training, and recreation through weekend camporees and summer camps. Cub Scout Pack 578 (ages 6-9 / grades 1-4) also meets weekly with the assistance of volunteer CPHA parents and staff to learn basic survival skills and leadership training. A week long day camp held during the summer offers recreation and reinforces Boy Scout principles. All equipment, uniforms, and camping trips are sponsored by the Boy Scouts of America through camperships and private donations.
